Garden Center theft and construction tool theft top this week’s Mt. Laurel Police Report

The following reports are on file with the Mt. Laurel Police Department:

At 11:43 pm. on June 30, Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Elbo Lane near Sawmill Drive. During the stop officers arrested a male, age 18, of Mt. Laurel. He was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released pending a court hearing.

A resident on the 100 block of Mulberry Cove reported someone stole cash and a GPS from his unlocked vehicle between 4:45 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on June 29.

At 2:30 p.m. on June 29, Mt. Laurel Police responded to the Wawa, 720 South Church Street for a theft report. The manager reported that an employee store money from the cash register on two occasions during the month of June totaling $430. The investigation resulted in the arrest of a male, age 18, of Mt. Laurel. He was released pending a court hearing.

At 1:47 a.m. on June 29, Mt. Laurel Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on Route 73 near Rogers Walk. A vehicle ran into the rear of a street sweeper. The impact caused the street sweeper to leak gasoline onto the roadway that ultimately entered a storm drain. The Mt. Laurel Fire Department and Burlington County Health Department Hazmat Unit responded for cleanup. No injuries were reported. During the investigation officers arrested a male, age 27, of Palmyra. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

At 7:35 p.m. on June 28, Mt. Laurel Police responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint on Harwood Court near Denham Court. The investigation resulted in the arrest of a female, age 49, of Mt. Laurel. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

A resident on Mountain View Road reported someone broke the windshield of his vehicle sometime between June 27 and June 28. It appears a baseball bat was used to cause the damage.

At 8:45 p.m. on June 27, two men broke into Eric’s Garden Center, 528 Mt. Laurel Road, and stole the drawer from the cash register. They got away with an undetermined amount of cash. The criminals fled the scene in a dark colored Ford F-150 pick-up truck that they parked in the Harrington Middle School Parking lot near the garden center. The truck has a silver colored tool box in the bed and the truck may be a four-door crew cab. One suspect is a male, bald, wearing a knee brace on his right leg. He also appears to have tattoos covering both of his arms. The second suspect is a male with dark hair.

On June 27, Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Springdale Road near Church Road. During the stop officers arrested a female, age 61, of Cherry Hill. She was charged with illegal possession of prescription medication and possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana. She was released pending a court hearing.

Two vehicles on Preakness Drive had their driver’s side mirrors damaged between June 26 and June 27. Both vehicles were parked in the roadway at the time.

A victim on Krysta Court reported that sometime between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. on June 25 someone entered his open garage and stole his wallet from an unlocked vehicle. Cash, credit cards, and identification cards were in the wallet.

Between June 24 and June 27, tools and equipment were stolen from a construction site on Stamford Drive in the Rogers Walk development. The thieves cut locks and entered trailers on the site to steal the equipment valued at over $3,000.
